Complying with International Safety Standards

When choosing an indoor playground company, it is important to ensure the playground equipment that you purchase is of the highest quality as well as in compliance with the safety standards set for indoor playgrounds. Product safety and quality has always been Topkidsplay’s highest priority. Topkidsplay manufactures equipments with the highest quality materials to ensure we meet or exceed all North American and European standards, including TUV, GS-EN1176, CE for Europe and ASTM, CPSIA, UL94, NFPA701 for North America.

With many years of experience in the playground industry, Topkidsplay is professional in designing and manufacturing safe indoor parks including indoor playgrounds, trampoline park and ninja warrior course. Below are the standards that Topkidsplay should follow:

(1) ASTM F1918 for North America

ASTM 1918 is the Standard Safety Performance Specification for Soft Contained Play Equipment. ASTM is an international standard organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and service. Topkidsplay has been designing, manufacturing, and installing indoor playgrounds that complies with the ASTM F1918 (Standard Safety Performance Specification for Soft Contained Play Equipment). Topkidsplay can meet the local safety standards and pass the safety inspections in North America.

(2) CPSIA for North America

The Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008 is a United States law signed on August 14, 2008 by President George Bush. The legislative bill was known as HR4040, sponsored by Congressman Bobby rush. It was approved by both the United States House of Representatives and Senate. Laws for kids safety are very strict in USA. To meet the safety law requirements and high quality safety standards, Topkidsplay’s indoor playgrounds are specifically designed, manufactured and installed in compliance with those laws and standards in every aspect.

(3) NFPA 701 for North America

NFPA has various standards depending on how the fabric will be used. In the case of draperies, curtains, and similar hanging textiles, the standard that applies is NFPA 701: Standard Methods of Fire Tests for Flame Propagation of Textiles and Films. This test measures the flammability of a fabric when it is exposed to specific sources of ignition.All of the materials used for Topkidsplay’s indoor playgrounds are complied with the NFPA 701.

(4) UL 94 for North America

UL 94 is the most widely used test for determining a specimen’s relative flammability, its ability to extinguish the flame after ignition and its dripping behavior. UL94 covers two types of testing: vertical burn and horizontal burn. The Standard for Safety of Flammability of Plastic Materials for Part in Devices and Appliance testing is a plastic flammability standard released by underwriters Laboratories of the USA. The standard classifies plastics according to how they burn in various orientations and rank their thicknesses from lowest (least flame-retardant) to highest (most flame-retardant).

(5) EN 1176 for Europe

The European Standards for Playground Equipment: EN 1176 and EN 1177 have been published to harmonise existing European standards.The EN1176 including EN1176-10, EN1176-1, EN1176-3 is a European safety standard made for both indoor playgrounds and outdoor playgrounds. Topkidsplay has been in business with many customers from European countries for many years. Topkidsplay’s indoor playgrounds can meet the EN1176 standards to pass the inspections by local safety authorities.

(6) EN 71 for Europe

European standard EN 71 specifies safety requirements for toys. Compliance with the standard is legally required for all toys sold in the European Union. The standard has been published in 13 parts from EN 71-1 to EN 71-13. EN71 is another safety standard widely implemented in Europe and Topkidsplay’s indoor playgrounds can meet this standard.

(7) CE for Europe

CE Marking is the symbol as shown on the top of this page. The letters “CE” are the abbreviation of French phrase “Conformité Européene” which literally means “European Conformity”. The term initially used was “EC Mark” and it was officially replaced by “CE Marking” in the Directive 93/68/EEC in 1993. “CE Marking” is now used in all EU official documents. CE is a very important safety standard in Europe, all the indoor playgrounds should meet the CE standard if enter the European market. (8) EU REACH Regulation (EC) for Europe

REACH is a European Community (EC) safety regulation that deals with the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances. EU REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 is a safety certification for Non Phthalates in Toys and Childcare Article.

(9) AS3533.4.2-2013 for Australia

The AS3533.4.2-2013 is a playground safety standard that is made specifically for indoor playgrounds.
Our indoor playgrounds are in compliance with the Australia safety standards especially for our Australian customers.
As testing for the Australian standards cannot be done outside of Australia, we are unable to get our products tested for this standard. We strictly ensure to follow the standards in the AS 3533.4.2-2013 document in our designing, manufacturing and installation process.

(10) CSA Z614-07(R2012) for Canada

Canadian Standards Association (operating as “CSA Group”) develops standards through a consensus standards development process approved by the Standards Council of Canada.This CSA Z614-07(R2012) Standard provides requirements for public-use playspaces and play equipment intended for use by children aged 18 months to 12 years with anthropometric limits based on the 95th percentile.This is the safety standard that is commonly referred by our Canadian customers. Thus, Dreamland Playground indoor playgrounds are fully in compliance with this standard.

ISO,the International Organization for Standardization, is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 161 national standards bodies.International Standards make things work. They give world-class specifications for products, services and systems, to ensure quality, safety and efficiency. They are instrumental in facilitating international trade.The ISO standard is one of the most implemented international safety standards as almost every country accepts it. Dreamland Playground indoor playgrounds also meet the requirements of ISO standard in every aspect.
